Today, we remember with respect and gratitude the martyrs of Tunisia, who sacrificed their lives for the freedom, dignity, and independence of their country. On April 9th, 1938, during the French colonial regime, a large number of Tunisians were killed in an uprising following the brutal repression of nationalist demonstrations in Sfax. Since then, this date has become a symbol of the struggle for freedom and independence in Tunisia.
On this 86th anniversary of Martyrs’ Day, we honor their courage and determination to uphold the ideals of justice and democracy.
These heroes played a crucial role in Tunisia’s history, fighting against oppression and injustice, and paving the way for a fairer and more equitable society. Their sacrifice continues to inspire us and remind us of the importance of remaining vigilant in protecting our fundamental values.
On this day of remembrance, let us commit to perpetuating the martyrs’ legacy by pursuing their aspirations for a free, prosperous, and democratic Tunisia. May their memory be a source of inspiration and strength for us all!
